The u.s. administration said North Korea was “directly responsible” for the WannaCry malware attack affecting hospitals, businesses and banks around the world earlier this year.

The attack is said to have affected over 300,000 computers in 150 countries, causing billions of dollars of damage.

Thomas Bossert, a collaborator of U.S. President Donald Trump, made the accusation in the Wall Street Journal.

This is the first time that the united states has accused the country officially for the worm.

Mr. Bossert, which advises the president on homeland security, said that the allegation was based on evidence”.

It does not have to produce evidence in the article, but told US the results agree with the judgments of other governments and private companies.

The government of the united Kingdom stated in November that he was “certain” that North Korea carried out the attack.

In May, Windows-based computers hit by cyber-attacks have had their content locked down, with users asked to pay a ransom for their data to be restored. The EU police body Europol has called the extent of the attack “unprecedented.”

In the piece, Mr. Bossert said North Korea must be held to be “responsible” and stated that the united states will continue to use a “maximum pressure” of the strategy to hamper the regime’s ability to mount cyber-attacks.

He has not specified what measures, if any, the U.S. government has planned to take in response to their findings.

The country is already facing economic sanctions, after having been nominated by a state sponsor of terrorism, last month, in the midst of tensions on the nuclear program of North korea and missile tests.

“North Korea has acted especially badly, largely unchecked, for more than a decade, and its malicious behavior is more egregious. WannaCry was indiscriminate, reckless,” Mr. Bossert said.

“As we make the internet more secure, we will continue to hold accountable those who harm or threaten us, whether acting alone or on behalf of criminal organizations or hostile nations,” he went on.

“The tool kits of totalitarian regimes are too dangerous to ignore.”

The White House is expected to give an official statement blame Pyongyang on Tuesday. ‘Unprecedented attack’

In the united KINGDOM, the National Health Service (NHS) has been especially affected by the cyber-attack, with 48 affected health care trusts forced to turn many patients for appointments and even surgeries.

It spread across the world, with Russia have been badly affected, causing problems for the country’s postal service.

The entertainment company had its movies leak, and the details of the company finances and the private messages posted online.

The North Koreans go out to the former president Barack Obama on the request, but has not yet responded to the White House accusations about the WannaCry hack.

In October, he said rumours of a UK government minister that they were behind the 2017 attack was “baseless speculation”, and a “wicked attempt” to tighten the international sanctions against the country.
