Russian President Vladimir Putin said that he will run in the upcoming presidential elections as the independent candidate. On Thursday, December 14, he said at a press conference, reports TASS.
“This is self-promotion, but I am certainly counting on the support of those political forces, political parties and public organizations that share my opinion on the development of the country”, â€” quotes its “Interfax”.
Putin also noted that the candidacy of the head of his campaign staff has not yet been determined.
In addition, the President spoke about his election program: “She’s almost there, but to present it now uncomfortable.” Speaking about the vision of the country, the head of state explained that he would like to see Russia as a future-oriented and flexible political system.
December 6, Putin announced plans for the fourth time to run for the presidential elections. Also, the desire to compete for the post of President was declared by the Deputy of the state Duma Vladimir Zhirinovsky, TV presenter Ksenia Sobchak and Catherine Gordon, the businessman Sergey Polonsky and the business Ombudsman Boris Titov.
The Russian presidential election will be held on 18 March 2018. The campaign should start in mid-December 2017.
