Kiev. 4 Dec. INTERFAX – the Head of self-proclaimed Kiev Patriarchate Filaret Denisenko’s stated willingness to meet with Patriarch Kirill for negotiations, but it is not going to abandon the idea of autocephaly.
“If he (Patriarch Kirill – if) offered to meet, I would, of course, agreed, but from his position, namely, autocephaly of the Ukrainian Church would not back down”, he said in the air of 1+1 on Sunday evening.
Thus Filaret added that while such proposals on the meeting was submitted.
According to his confession, he understood that the talks with the leadership of the Russian Orthodox Church can be perceived ambiguously in KP.
“I told you that no matter how complete these negotiations, what will be the decision of the Council of bishops to remain United because unity is more important than autocephaly,” – said Filaret.
