Putin invited the President of Argentina aid in the search for the missing submarine

MOSCOW, 22 Nov — RIA Novosti. Vladimir Putin during a telephone conversation invited the President of Argentina Mauricio Macri assistance in the search for the missing submarine “San Juan”, the press service of the Kremlin.

“In telephone conversation the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin expressed the President of the Argentine Republic, Mauricio Macri words of support in connection with the situation with the missing in the Atlantic ocean the submarine “San Juan”, — stated in the message.

The Russian side has offered Argentina’s help in the search operation. The two leaders also agreed to establish contact between the defense ministries with the aim of rescuing submariners.

Earlier, the Navy of Argentina said that the “critical phase” in search of the missing submarine. Representative fleet Enrique Balbi in an interview with the Agency Telam said that the submarine runs out of oxygen, but still failed to find any trace.

The submarine “San Juan” has ceased to leave on communication 15 Nov. She followed from the port of Ushuaia in the city of Mar del Plata. On Board were 44 crew members, the submarine had enough oxygen for six days in offline mode.

Despite the bad weather, her search continues. The operation involved 13 marine and ten aircraft, the Navy, the U.S. sent to Argentina Autonomous underwater vehicles.

The missing submarine was built in Germany and is included in the composition of the Navy of Argentina in 1985. Its length is 66 meters, the submarine speeds up to 25 knots.
