Nikki Haley: “We call on all countries to completely sever all ties with North Korea”

US Ambassador to UN warns of possible catastrophic consequences of the aggressive actions of the regime of Juche

NEW YORK- the U.S. Permanent representative to the United Nations, Nikki Haley took on Wednesday evening to participate in the emergency meeting of the UN security Council, assembled after the next tests of ballistic missiles conducted by North Korea. The U.S. representative expressed strong protest against actions of the authorities of the DPRK, which she called the “incessant acts of aggression”.

Below are excerpts from the speech of N. Haley in the UN security Council:

“Yesterday, the North Korean regime made a choice. He chose the path of nuclear aggression. He decided to show the Fig to the entire civilized world and see how the world has enough patience…

For the rest of the world comes the moment of making critical decisions…

The North Korean regime is marching towards a functional nuclear Arsenal. The ongoing development of these missile systems require that (other) countries have increased isolation of the regime (Kim Jong UN)…

So today we call on all countries to completely sever all ties with North Korea. In addition to full compliance with all the UN sanctions that all States should sever diplomatic relations with the DPRK and restrict its military, scientific, technical or commercial cooperation.

They are also required to suspend all trade with (North Korean) regime, by stopping all imports and exports, and to expel (from their site) all workers from North Korea…

Yesterday, the regime declared itself a nuclear power, saying that he “formed the nuclear armed forces, equipped with heavy warheads capable of hitting the entire continental territory of the United States”.

But we have options…

We know that the main engine of their nuclear programmes – oil. Through sanctions we have deprived North Korea of 90% of trade and 30% of its oil. But there remains the unprocessed oil, and its main supplier is China… it is Necessary that China put more effort…

We hope that China will take the lead in this matter and will meet the expectations.

North Korean dictator chose the day before the way of bringing the world to war, not away from it. We never wanted to war with North Korea, we don’t aspire to it now. If the war starts, it will happen because of continuous acts of aggression like the one we witnessed yesterday.

And if the war starts, you can be sure that the North Korean regime will be completely destroyed.

The peoples of the world have the opportunity to further isolate and weaken the North Korean regime and, with God’s help, to get him off the dangerous path.

Each of us is obliged to do everything in his power. Thank you.”
