The United States stopped the program for refugees from Haiti

Almost 60,000 people affected by the earthquake in 2010, will have to return home

The United States terminated the program for granting special status 59000 citizens of Haiti, protecting them from deportation. This will happen in July 2019. According to senior administration officials the White house, “extraordinary, but temporary conditions [in Haiti], which was the basis for the establishment of such programs has improved, and they can no longer prevent Haitian nationals to safely return.”

“18 months, during which this program will continue to operate, will help the government of Haiti to prepare for the return of immigrants”, – said in the White house.
