ANKARA, 17 Dec – RIA Novosti. President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that Ankara has decided to withdraw its troops from 40 NATO exercises in Norway after it was installed a stand with photos of “enemies”, among whom was the founder of the Turkish Republic Mustafa Kemal atatürk and the current Turkish leader.
“They put a stand with portraits of “enemies”, they depict atatürk and me. On hearing this, the head of the Turkish General staff told us about the incident and said that he had taken the decision to withdraw 40 Turkish soldiers participating in NATO exercises. The Turkish authorities supported this decision”, — said Erdogan, speaking in Ankara in front of the heads of the regional offices of the ruling Party of justice and development.
He added that Ankara will reconsider its decision even if this stand will be removed.
