Images of the Lynk&Co 02, a crossover that must be made for the uk by 2020, have been leaked online.
The third model of the Geely brand Lynk&Co line-up, is expected to arrive at Beijing motor show next year, it looks like a smaller version of the 01 SUV, with which it shares its underpinnings and several technical features.
The 02, is built on the CMA platform that has been co-developed by Geely brother’s Volvo. It measures just under 4.5 metres long, which is 0.1 meters shorter than the 01 and a couple of inches longer than the Volvo XC40. The car’s wheelbase is identical to the XC40.
Such as Volvo, Lynk&Co intends to make its new models pleasant to drive, so the 02 chassis with handling European tastes in mind.
The crossing will make use of a plug-in hybrid system that has been co-developed by Volvo. It is claimed to be good for an electric range of up to 50 miles.
The power train is based around a three-cylinder petrol engine, seven-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox, battery and electric motor.
The plug-in hybrid powertrain will initially be available from 2018 with 31 miles on the Volvo XC40 and Lynk&Co 01, before being launched to offer 50 miles, surpassing similar-sized rivals in its segment.
The 02 also generate a version all-electric in the beginning of the next decade, with a range that could be as large as 373 miles (600 km).
Lynk&Co is due to be introduced in Europe from 2019, with cars arriving in the uk later in the year. The brand only sells its vehicles, which currently comprise the 01, 02 and 03 of the room, in line, with the majority of sales expected in the form of subscription.
01, confirming that the price of 180,000 RMB (around £20,583) in China, so expect the 02 to start just below that.
