Christmas want to make a non-working day in Ukraine

Kiev. 13 Nov. INTERFAX – Ukraine the Verkhovna Rada at the upcoming plenary week intends to consider the bill, which proposes to determine the December 25 holiday and a day off.

According to the agenda of the Parliament for the next plenary week, published on its website, on the appropriate amendments to the labour Code of the people’s deputies intend to consider next Tuesday.

According to the bill authors offer a list of holiday and non-working days in Ukraine add December 25 – the Nativity of Christ.

As the correspondent of “Interfax”, on Monday, the Chairman of the Committee on culture and spirituality Nicholas knyazhytsky was asked to introduce this bill to Parliament.

“Proposed 25 Dec Christmas to make the day, as well as 7 January. As in Ukraine, many Catholics, and Protestants, who are asked to make this day a day off. And we have the support of the audience”, – said the Deputy.

Currently in Ukraine public holiday 7 January – Christmas day according to the Julian calendar, which is used by Orthodox and Greek-Catholic churches.
