The law on utility services provides for a penalty of 0.01% for each day of delay in payment for service – Andrievsky

The draft law on housing and communal services includes a penalty for late payment of 0,01% for each day of delay, however, salary arrears, pensions or social payments the penalty is not charged. This was stated by the representative of the BPP, Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on construction, urban development, housing and communal services Dmitry Andrievsky comments in the “112 Ukraine”.

“St. 26 provides for a penalty for late payment 1% and 0,01% for each day overdue. That is the year it will reach about 3.5%. This regulation shall enter into force from 1 January 2019. The people there are arrears of wages, pensions, social benefits penalty is not charged,” – said Andrievsky.

He stressed that for any service you have to pay, otherwise the supplier will not be able not only to improve the quality of services, but also to perform scheduled maintenance and repairs, invest in energy efficiency.
