Police opened criminal proceedings on the fact of vandalism at the Eternal flame in Kiev

The Metropolitan police opened criminal proceedings under part 3 of article 297 (“desecration of the grave, other burial place, or on the body of the deceased”) the Criminal code of Ukraine into the incident at the Eternal flame in the Park of Glory. This reports the press service of the police of Kiev.

Currently, law enforcement officers check CCTV footage in the incident area.

In addition, the scene was seized three pair of construction gloves and buckets.

In the morning it became known that in Kiev, in the Park of Glory, the vandals poured cement an Eternal flame. There were the investigators, the gas service and the handlers. The desecration of a monument in the police said a passerby, who saw that the Eternal fire is filled with cement.

As reported, in April this year in Kiev, stole bronze parts of the Eternal flame.

Earlier, on March 29, 2011, member of the “Brotherhood” Anna Sinkova was arrested for 16 Dec 2010 tried to fry eggs and sausages on the Eternal flame in the Park of glory in Kyiv. After that, she spent three months detained in the detention center.

The Pechersk district Prosecutor’s office indicted under article 297, part 2 of the Criminal code of Ukraine (“violation of a grave”), which is punishable for a period of 3 to 5 years of imprisonment. In October 2012 Sinkovo was given three years imprisonment, suspended for two years.

18 Nov 2014 Sinkova released the Svyatoshinsky regional court of Kiev.
