Police: Dad put the ice on a dummy as a child

The father, Albury, NSW will face court today accused of contaminating her dead child with ice. Detectives from the State Crime Command’s Abuse Team launched an investigation after staff at the Albury Base Hospital raised the alarm.

Police have said the four-month-old girl was admitted to the hospital at the end of October with an unknown disease.

Pathology tests revealed that the baby had amphetamine and methylamphetamine (ice) in his system.

Officers from Albury Local Command of Child Abuse and the detective chased the 24-year-old father walking through the streets of Albury before stopping him just before 9.

The man was taken to Albury Police Station, where he was accused of using poison to endanger life or inflict serious damage.

The police will argue in court that the man unwisely administered ice to the child contaminate his dummy.

He was refused bail to appear in Albury Local Court later today.
