An adherent of radical Islam condemned in Kazakhstan for propaganda of terrorism in social networks

Karaganda. 1 Nov. INTERFAX – Court kazbekovskogo district of the city of Karaganda in Kazakhstan, was sentenced to seven and a half years of imprisonment with confiscation of property of a local resident for the propaganda of terrorism, said on Wednesday the press service of the regional court.

The verdict of the court Nikolay Odintsov found guilty under the article 256, part 2 (propaganda of terrorism through the media) of the Criminal code of the Republic.

In 2012, N. Odintsov became a supporter of religious sects, adhering to the concept of “armed Jihad,” non-traditional Islam of the radical wing, advocating and spreading the ideology of terrorism.

According to the materials of the criminal case, the preliminary investigation bodies in the course of monitoring has established a page on a social network “Vkontakte” registered under the username “Nicholas Abdumalik” where N.Odintsov had posted extremist materials.
