MOSCOW, October 28 â€” RIA Novosti. NATO soldier in Afghanistan died in a helicopter crash in the East of the country, reported the press service of the mission.
“U.S. serviceman has died from wounds sustained in a helicopter crash in Logar province on Friday evening,” â€” said in a press release on the website of the mission.
Injured six crew members, all of them hospitalized.
According to NATO, the helicopter was not shot down by the enemy. The exact cause of the crash is not yet established, investigation is conducted.
In Afghanistan from 1 January 2015 is a non-combat NATO mission “Resolute support”, which main purpose is training and advising members of the Afghan security forces. It replaced the military operation conducted by the anti-terrorist coalition under the command of U.S. and international forces on safety (ISAF) under NATO command.
