In Lviv will be held a round table with the participation of the poles and the Embassy of the country to discuss education law

In Lviv, the pre-October 26, will be held round table with participation of representatives of the Polish minority, embassies of the Republic and Ministry of education of Ukraine regarding implementation “the language of the article” the Parliament adopted the law on education. As informs a press-service of the Ministry of education, the relevant agreement was reached during the meeting of the Minister of Lily Grinevich and Ambassador of Poland in Ukraine Jan Inferno.

Offer to hold a round table was expressed by the Ukrainian Minister, the Polish side for support.

In addition, the interlocutors discussed bilateral cooperation between the two countries in the field of higher education.

“So, Ukraine plans to create a system of tracking the employment of graduates, which helps to trace the trajectory of each graduate after receiving their higher education. Such a system already operates in Poland. The parties had agreed to cooperate in this project, and while the MES is interested to intensify it. In addition, the final stage is the development of a new Agreement on cooperation in the field of higher education between the Ministry of education and science of Ukraine and Ministry of science and higher education of the Republic of Poland, which is planned to sign till the end of the year”, – reported in Department.

Earlier it was reported that the President Petro Poroshenko signed law of Ukraine No. 2145-VIII “On education” adopted by the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on 5 September 2017. A warning against him was expressed by Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, Russia and Moldavia.

The Hungarian Parliament stated that the education act violates the rights of Hungarians in Transcarpathia. Hungary urged not to allow the entry of the law into force and appealed to the international community to condemn the educational reform. Later it became known that the Parliament intends to block any rapprochement between Ukraine and the EU because of the law “On education”.

Foreign Minister Klimkin said that the language edit of the law on education does not infringe upon the rights of national minorities and Ukraine is working to ensure that citizens of Hungarian origin feel as comfortable as possible.
