The 83-year-old grandmother spent a night in Fiona Stanley hospital after she was allegedly attacked and robbed raped during a home invasion early Friday in her home in Waikiki.
The police say the teenager was trapped in the same suburb and is in custody, is yet to be charged.
7 News reported the woman, who uses a Walker, was alone when the alleged attacker smash its way into your house.
She described her attacker as in his early 20s with dark skin, about 180cm tall and of medium build. He was wearing black clothing and a black baseball cap, police said.
“In terms of their welfare, we are glad to say, it is well to consider what they endured and it is our hope that we can resolve this matter for you and your family as soon as possible,” Senior Constable Carr said ABC News.
Perth Now reported to the WA Sex Assault Squad detectives searched the older woman’s home and spoke with neighbors to find someone that can hear or have seen suspicious activity.
The incident follows a string of attacks on older people across Perth, including a 77-year-old had smashed a bottle in his face as he drove with his bike and a 94-year-old war veteran whose wallet was allegedly stolen.
