The cause of the fire is not yet known, police are going to investigate
In Germany burned down one of the tallest observation structures – Goethe tower. It was reported by Der Spiegel.
The design was in Frankfurt am main. According to firefighters, they immediately began to extinguish the fire in the 43-meter towers because of the risk of collapse. Initially, they were engaged in providing security in the area.
“Tower in Sachsenhausen on fire, she can’t be saved”, writes rescue service on Twitter. At the moment the cause of the fire is not yet known, police are going to investigate.

As the newspaper notes, the tower in Sachsenhausen was one of the highest wooden observation towers in Germany. It was named in honor of Johann Wolfgang von Goethe in 1931 on the occasion of the upcoming centenary of the death of this cultural figure. Only in 2014, it was reconstructed and opened for tours.
