Saakashvili intends to appeal the deprivation of Ukrainian citizenship

KYIV, 13 Dec — RIA Novosti. The ex-President of Georgia and former Governor of the Odessa region Mikhail Saakashvili said that he will appeal to the Ukrainian court deprive him of citizenship of Ukraine after obtaining from the authorities all necessary documents, this will be done in a maximum period of two weeks.

“The lawsuit I will file after can make sure that all the documents… they’ve provided. Part they are already provided,” — Saakashvili said at a press conference on Friday.

He added that after his return to Ukraine the team of lawyers didn’t have time to do his business as they were engaged in the processes according to the activists, which the government accuses “breaking the boundaries”

“We did not have the legal resources to deal with my personal problems, but I think we can find time to do it in the near future… next couple of days or maximum couple of weeks,” said Saakashvili.

Deprived of Ukrainian citizenship Saakashvili on 10 September with the support of the supporters broke through the cordon of guards and law enforcement officers at the checkpoint “shehyni” and got on the territory of Ukraine from Poland. Criminal case under five articles, including, the organization of illegal transportation of persons across the border and resisting law enforcement.

Saakashvili said that didn’t break the law when crossing the border and intends to defend in court their Ukrainian citizenship. He claims that law enforcement officers during the search “stolen his passport,” the police, however, has denied this claim.

The lawyer Saakashvili has submitted to the migration service of Ukraine a statement on the recognition of his client by the person in need of complementary protection state to prevent the extradition policy of Ukraine to Georgia, however, the Agency did not respond. It cannot be left to expel
