Saint-Petersburg. 11 Oct. INTERFAX – Icon “angel of Golden hair” will not move in the house Church of the Mikhailovsky (Engineering) castle, reported “Interfax” in the State Russian Museum on Wednesday.
“The icon remains on permanent display in the Museum and will not be moved to the house Church,” – said the Agency interlocutor.
Earlier in the press service of the Ministry of culture, “Interfax” reported that the icon of the XII century “angel Golden hair” from the Russian Museum collection can pass for temporary exhibitions in the chapel of St Michael’s (engineers) castle. 277 meanwhile, the Museum staff expressed concern about the possible movement of the icon at the initiative of the businessman and philanthropist addressed the Union of museums of Russia.
“Angel Golden hair” is the oldest icon of the collection of the Russian Museum in St. Petersburg. Dates from the second half of the XII century. Most experts attribute it to the Novgorod school of icon painting.
