The President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko on Saturday signed a law to extend the special status of Donbass, said on Saturday the press service of the head of state.
“President Petro Poroshenko has signed Law No. 2167-VIII “On creation of necessary conditions for peaceful settlement of the situation in certain districts of Donetsk and Lugansk regions”, adopted by the Verkhovna Rada on 6 October”, — stated in the message.
Ukraine’s Parliament on Friday extended for a year the law on the special status of Donbass.
The law States that special status for Donbas will take effect after fulfillment of certain conditions, in particular the withdrawal of “illegal armed groups” from these territories.
