The Ministry of foreign Affairs of Ukraine has condemned the imprisonment in a colony of Deputy head of Mejlis of Crimean Tatar people Ilmi Umerov, which was adopted by the court in the occupied Crimea. This was written by a press Secretary of the foreign Ministry of Ukraine Marian Betz on Twitter.

“Criminal and illegal sentence. The massacre of the Russian Federation over the Crimean Tatars. Condemn and Express our protest,” she wrote.

The foreign Ministry called for the immediate release of the Deputy Chairman of the Majlis.

“We demand from Russia to release Ilmi. Encourage international partners to increase pressure on Russia to release Umerov and other Ukrainian political prisoners,” she said.

As reported, today the court in the occupied Crimea Umerov sentenced to two years in prison and banned from social activities for two years.
