Two Israeli pilgrims were wounded in the explosion in Uman

Kiev. September 21. INTERFAX – the Ukrainian city of Uman, which drew tens of thousands of Israeli pilgrims on the celebration of the Jewish New year, exploded an unknown object, resulting in slightly injured two Israeli civilians – a man and 13-year-old.

According to the Department of communications of the National police of Ukraine, the explosion occurred around 6:00 Thursday in the garages near the places of mass stay of Hasidic pilgrims. At departure on a scene police found that the explosion of an unknown object damaged the roof of one of the garages.

“Injured 13-year-old, a citizen of Israel. The boy received injuries in the form of a cut left hand on the brush. The teenager received medical assistance on the spot,” – said in the report released on Thursday morning message.

Police personnel raised the alarm.

The scene on the orders of the head of the National police arrived the first Deputy head of the NHRI Vyacheslav Abroskin and Deputy head of Department Alexander Fatsevich.

“Currently on the scene working investigative team and the bomb squad. The circumstances of the explosion and was involved in the explosion of identities are established. The issue of opening of criminal proceedings”, – stated in the message.

Later arrived at the scene, first Deputy head of the national police of Ukraine Vyacheslav Abroskin reported that as a result of the explosion, in addition to teenager, insignificant injuries were got by the man, also a citizen of Israel.

“It is impossible now to argue that it was a terrorist attack, while talking about hooliganism. More details can be discuss after the collection and analysis of all information. Work at a place about five reinforced investigatory-operative groups. Also here for the organization of work there arrived the staff of criminal investigation Department of the National police of Ukraine”, – quotes Vladimir Abroskin, the press service of the Channel.

Commenting on the work of the police on the scene of the incident about 6 o’clock Thursday morning in Uman explosion, the first Deputy head of national police said that police investigators opened criminal proceedings under part 4 of article 296 of the Criminal code of Ukraine (hooliganism).

According to Vladimir Abroskin, the Ukrainian police works closely with Israeli law enforcement authorities.

Later in his page on “Facebook” first Deputy head of the national police wrote that he had received a cut on the hand of a boy his father and other pilgrims temporarily living in one of the outbuildings located near high-rise buildings.

Analyzing currently available information, it is not excluded that “probably, there were rough handling the unidentified explosive objects”.
