The acting head of Mordovia scored 92% of the votes at the start of the counting

Interim head of Mordovia Republic Vladimir Volkov is in the lead on elections of the head of the region. It is reported by the Republican Central election Commission, reports on Sunday, September 10, RIA Novosti.

According to the CEC, to date, processed 7.26% of protocols of precinct election commissions (57 of 785). For Volkov voted by 92,75 per cent.

The direct election of the head of the Republic held for the first time since 2003. For the post of head of Mordovia expect five candidates: wolves, nominated by the Communist party, the President of group of companies “Inmedtekh” Dmitry Kuzyakin, Deputy of the state Assembly of region Evgenie Tyurin (LDPR), associate Professor, Moscow state University named after Ogarev Geraskin, Timur (“Fair Russia”) and Peter Villacin from the Party of peace and unity.

The CEC noted that in second place after Volkova is Kuzyakin from 2.79% of the votes. Tyurin received the support of 2.62 percent of voters, Geras’kin — 1.03 percent, Belmeken — 0.51 per cent.

The wolves headed Mordovia since 2012, his term of office was due to expire in may 2017. In April, President Vladimir Putin appointed him acting head of the Republic until the election.
