The transit of gas through Ukraine peaked in 2011

In January-September 2017 the reservoirs of Ukrtransgaz transported to European countries of 61.95 billion cubic meters of gas, which is by 23.4% more than in the same period last year. This is the maximum rate of transit from 2011, reported the press service of Ukrtransgaz.

Natural gas imports from EU countries in the first eight months increased by 95.8 per cent and amounted to 9.4 billion cubic meters. According to the Slovak direction received 7.1 billion cubic meters, the Hungarian – 1.5 billion cubic meters, according to the Polish – 0.8 billion cubic meters. In 2017 Ukrtransgaz pumped 7 billion cubic meters of gas in storage facilities, which is 71% higher than the same period last year. Today in the Ukrainian underground storage facilities accumulated 14.8 billion cubic meters of gas.

Beginning in may of this year, the selection of gas from Ukrainian gas storage facilities is not possible. As of September 1, 2017 the selection of fuel from underground storage facilities is fixed at 4.1 billion cubic meters, which is 26.7% less than in January-August last year.

Gas production in Ukraine since the beginning of the year increased by 3% and amounted to 13.8 billion cubic meters.

Gas consumption by Ukraine in 2017 decreased by 0.5% to 17.9 billion cubic metres.

In early August, it was reported that Gazprom 10% increased pumping gas to Europe via the Ukrainian GTS.
