Moscow. August 17. INTERFAX – Nearing completion of extensive work on the publication in Russia of one of the world’s best books the help group – “the Oxford Handbook on palliative care for children”.
“The publication of the Oxford tutorial is an important strategic step on the way to in Russia there were specialists in palliative medicine, which is now very short. This book will be able to learn the specialists of palliative care across the country”, – said on Thursday the Orthodox service of assistance “Mercy”.
It is planned that the first thousand copies will be printed in the coming months. Distribution of the textbook to alleviate the child’s pain will be engaged in service of assistance “Mercy”. On a special page doctors, representatives of educational institutions, which prepare specialists in palliative care, and representatives of charitable foundations can apply for a free tutorial.
All the work on the preparation of the book was carried out by donations. In addition, the publication of the book in Russia was supported by prominent people, including the Director of the research Institute of emergency children’s surgery and traumatology Leonid Roshal and actor Andrei Merzlikin.
In Russia today, according to the charity Fund “Children’s palliative”, not less than 180 thousand children in need of palliative care, the experts agree that specialists in palliative Pediatrics in Russia is lacking.
