More than 50% of Protestants in Northern Ireland in favour of lifting the ban on abortion, with 63% of Protestant voters under 40 in favor of same-sex marriages, according to a study conducted at the University of Liverpool.
After the election, the survey conducted by the Council for economic and social research (esrc), found a young Pro-Union Protestants feel alienated from the unionist parties because of their social conservatism.
