During the two months more than 2,000 children from Russia visited the Jewish school camp

Moscow. 4 Aug. INTERFAX – More than 2,000 children from Russia spent their summer holidays in the Jewish school camps in the country and abroad.

“In all our camps, children have the opportunity to eat kosher, to get acquainted with Jewish culture and tradition, to learn the basics of Hebrew. In religious camps children observe the Sabbath, celebrate Jewish holidays,” – said the President of the Federation of Jewish communities of Russia Alexander Boroda, quoted by the press service of the FJC.

He said that the leading in Russia and CIS countries Jewish children’s camp is “the Garden of Israel.” Camp exists for more than 17 years, the children are divided in shifts for boys and girls in the Orthodox religious canons, counselors in the camp are female students in Jewish universities and boys, students of the rabbinical academies. In the summer of 2017, visited the camp to over 300 children from 7 to 16 years from different countries.

For the fourth consecutive year of leading the summer day camp at the Jewish Museum and tolerance center. For the past two shifts, the camp was visited by over 1000 schoolchildren and preschoolers of ages 4 to 13 years.

For the first time in June this year started a day camp day at the children’s center “Malka”, which is open in the fall of 2016 in the Jewish religious-cultural centre “Zhukovka”. Outdoors campers to explore the world and received new skills and knowledge, and also visited museums, parks and art studios.

In addition to camps, the FJC this summer, the Jewish students went to camp at the Agency “Sochnut”, “J-camp”, organized by the Genesis and a major international camp “Szarvas” in Hungary, acting with the support of Fund “joint”, for children 11-17 years old, which annually hosts a delegation from Russia.
