Zakharova called “ugly action” video on “forest brothers”

MOSCOW, July 13 — RIA Novosti. The official representative of Russian foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova criticized the video in which NATO has presented the heroes of the fighters against the Soviet power in the Baltic countries, many of whom served in the Nazi army. The diplomat expressed hope that the world community will see this “disgusting event”.

On Wednesday, NATO posted online vasiliutsy documentary feature video in which the “forest brothers” presented by heroes, occupied solely by the struggle for independence of their countries from the Soviet Union and enjoyed broad support from the civilian population, who wanted to restore the statehood. The authors of the video also point out that the spirit of the “forest brothers” living in a modern special forces of the armed forces of the three Baltic countries.

“I remember six months ago the world community, including the Central media, discussed whether to put dancing on the subject of the Holocaust. I really hope that these same people, who, according to them, care about careful attitude to the tragic pages of history, will assess NATO’s vile actions. I hope no one has to remind about mass executions, involving those who then began to call themselves the “Forest brothers”, — Zakharov wrote on his page in Facebook.

The diplomat asked the journalists, historians and political analysts did not remain indifferent.

“This is a historical perversion, deliberately disseminated NATO to undermine the outcome of Nuremberg, you need to stop! If today Bandera — the hero and the “Forest brothers” partisans, which saved the Baltic, then what will happen tomorrow?” — said Zakharov.

The so-called “forest brothers” in 1944-1953 years actively fought against the Soviet power on the territory of the Baltic countries, many of them fought in the ranks of local battalions of the SS.
