Posner complains that the Russian Orthodox Church has not responded substantively to his question about the threat of the law on protection of the rights of believers

Moscow. June 30. INTERFAX – Journalist Vladimir Pozner said that never received a meaningful answer from the Russian Orthodox Church to your question, atheists establish whether the law on the protection of the rights of believers.

Earlier Vladimir Pozner has commented on its website a decision of Verkh-Isetsky district court of Yekaterinburg sentenced to 3,5 years of imprisonment conditionally blogger Ruslan Sokolovsky, who caught the pokemon in the temple.

“I reacted to what was tried of a person under article “Insult of feelings of believers”, in particular for what he publicly claimed that there is no God, not Jesus Christ or Mohammed. I therefore said: “How to be an atheist? Who denies the existence of God, Jesus Christ, Mohammed in a religious context” – reminded Vladimir Pozner.

“I turned to ROC and to (President) Putin with a request to explain how I feel, not can I be prosecuted for this. If I do not offend the feelings of believers, including the Patriarch, saying that I believe that there is no God. ROC replied that, well, I don’t have to worry. And Putin did not answer. But (the press Secretary of the President), Peskov said that he believes that it is not a government issue, it’s a rhetorical question, and you shouldn’t pay special attention,” said Vladimir Pozner, “Interfax”.

The journalist added that he wanted to concentrate on the fact that the said law is dangerous because it “allows to bring to justice the man behind incredible things.”

Answering the question how he sees the response of the Orthodox Church, Vladimir Pozner said that he expected just such a response. “I thought it would, despite the fact that I treat them extremely negative. But they decided not to answer me on the merits. I replied Vladimir Romanovich Legoyda in the program on the channel “Tsargrad”. Legoyda, in my opinion, a very decent man and very intelligent, but in this case it is nothing conclusive I could not tell. I replied, but it was a personal correspondence,” – said V. Pozner.
