Earlier, the Norwegian government announced that 330 U.S. Marines will remain in the country until the end of 2018.
“We believe that this step is contrary to the Norwegian policy on prevention of the placement of foreign military bases in the country in peacetime”, â€” quotes Agency the statement of the Embassy.
The move “makes Norway not a predictable partner, can also exacerbate tensions and lead to destabilization of the situation in the Northern region,” the statement reads.
Three hundred Marines from the United States arrived in January to Norway to participate in a military training program designed for six months.
