Hundreds of thousands of Palestinians are unable to enter the al-Aqsa mosque

Ankara. June 23. INTERFAX – Hundreds of thousands of Palestinians are unable to enter the al-Aqsa mosque on the last Friday prayers of the Islamic Holy month of Ramadan, according to Turkish news Agency “Anadolu”.

The mufti of Jerusalem Muhammad Amin al-Husseini reported that because of the obstacles created by the Israeli authorities.

According to the head of the Islamic Waqf of Jerusalem Azzam al-Khatib, a prayer in al-Aqsa mosque was made only about 150 thousand Palestinians.

Other interested persons early in the morning stood in a long queue at the checkpoint to get to Friday prayers in al-Aqsa, however, the Israeli military blocked the road in the area of the Old city near the mosque, passing only buses. Eventually part of the congregation was not able to get into the area of the mosque.
