Saint-Petersburg. June 16. INTERFAX – the State Museum-monument “St. Isaac’s Cathedral” intends to prepare a major exhibition for the 200th anniversary of the start of construction of the Cathedral which will be celebrated next year, said the new Museum Director Yuri Mudrov.
On Friday he was presented to the staff as the new head of the press service of the Museum-monument. In his welcome speech Yury Mudrov urged the employees to work, based on the functions of the Museum.
“Let’s rely on the fact that the Museum is open. Changes will proceed from the overall situation. Our task is to work adequately and well to fulfil their obligations to receive visitors, for the implementation of educational and outreach functions of the Museum, for the conservation and restoration of priceless monuments of culture, St Isaac’s Cathedral and Savior-on-Blood”, – said Yuri Mudrov.
“The current social partnership agreement with the St. Petersburg diocese will, as before, to perform, to develop and improve. I also want to note that 2018 marks the 200th anniversary of the start of construction of St. Isaac’s Cathedral, Auguste Montferrand. In this connection it is necessary to prepare a gift to the city – a large inter-Museum exhibition,” the Director added.
