ANKARA, may 30 – RIA Novosti, Fedor Smirnov. Ankara will not allow the German deputies at the base of “Incirlik” as long as Germany is taking steps against Turkey, said the Minister of foreign Affairs of Turkey Mevlut Cavusoglu on Tuesday.
Turkey the day before the start of the intended visit of a group of German MPs on a military base “Incirlik” informed the German foreign office about the impossibility of this trip. Then German Chancellor Angela Merkel said that Germany will continue to look for alternatives to move the German military contingent from a military base in Turkey to neighboring countries.
Turkey accuses Germany that she refused the extradition of the military, accused by Ankara in the attempted coup in July last year, as well as activists of the outlawed Turkey Kurdistan workers ‘ party (PKK).
“Germany looks negatively on Turkey. Now they say: “We want to come to Incirlik. Germany must understand that Turkey, which she can get to do what he wants, and get from her what he wants, no more. It was in the past. In such conditions it is impossible to allow the German Parliament to visit Incirlik. On Monday we discuss this issue with the foreign Minister of Germany Sigmar Gabriel,” Cavusoglu told reporters in Ankara.
He added that Turkey may reconsider this position if Germany will take positive steps towards her.
