Kyrgyz President promises to help the construction of new Orthodox churches in the Republic of

Bishkek. May 29. INTERFAX – Kyrgyz President Almazbek Atambayev at a meeting with Patriarch of Moscow and all Russia Kirill has promised to support the Orthodox in the country.

“I am very pleased that we have a good progress: finished the repairs of the Cathedral, opening new churches and will, I think, is still open”, – A. Atambayev said Monday at a meeting with Patriarch Kirill in Bishkek.

The Patriarch consecrated the resurrection Cathedral and the Foundation stone for the new building of the Vladimir school in the capital of Kyrgyzstan.

“Of course, all this is built, and we will help. You know, we do not regret,” – said the head of the Republic.

In turn, the Patriarch thanked A. Atambaev for attention to Orthodox Church in Kyrgyzstan, noting that its presence in the Republic “forms of multinational and multi-confessional dimension of the Kyrgyz society.”

“Different can be the relationship between religions, between people. But I had the opportunity to talk with the mufti and with our clergy. And without any politeness and compliments, I can say that, of course, unique atmosphere and the relations between nationalities, and the relations between religions,” he said.

Patriarch Kirill added that without the direct involvement of the President “to create such a design is quite difficult.”
