Reva: the IMF has no objection to the modernization of pensions in Ukraine

The Minister of social policy of Ukraine Andriy Reva said that the IMF has not objected to the modernization of pensions from October 2017.

The Minister of social policy of Ukraine Andriy Reva said that the international monetary Fund has no objection to the initiatives of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine on the modernization of pensions since October.

“The IMF knows that we will carry out modernization of pensions. Any objection to the modernization of pensions they (IMF – approx. ed) not expressed not expressed and, I hope, will not give”, – the Minister told journalists after a government meeting on Thursday.
The Ministry of Finance discussed with the IMF a new tranche for Ukraine

A. Reva said that the issue of modernization of pensions is an internal issue of Ukraine. “Pension modernization is our government’s responsibility and ask someone to hold modernity or not, we will not” – said the Minister.

According to him, the bill has already passed in the national Council of reforms and he hopes that the meeting for its consideration will take place next week.

A. Reva believes that the Verkhovna Rada a bill may be introduced in June.
