Moscow to host festival of arts, dedicated to the bringing of the relics of St. Nicholas

Moscow. May 18. INTERFAX – on Monday, may 22, in the Moscow Park “Krasnaya Presnya” will host the spring charity art festival “St. Nicholas day”. The festival is dedicated to the first in the history of the arrival in Moscow of Bari of the relics of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker.

The festival, planned as a spring celebration of the arts for the residents and guests of the capital in the lap of nature in the city center in a scenic Park on the roof, arranged for the first time. The event will be held in celebration of the memory of the relics of Saint Nicholas from Myra to Bari, in the feast day of the Church of St. Nicholas on the Three mountains, whose rise was one of the initiators of the event, reports the Synodal Department for Church relations with society and the media.

In addition to the musical program, the audience waiting for a traveling exhibition of contemporary artists, presentations of a few friendly festivals and unusual interactive: everyone will be able to participate in the creation of a large mosaic.

The festival bears and charitable mission – it supports the project of creating the first Museum of modern Christian art, the idea of which belongs to Archpriest Andrey Yurevich. The basis for the future of the Museum lies a collection of modern art collected by father Andrew.

Guests of the festival will see the presentation of the Museum and its new exhibits, one of the first, and created this day of collective mosaic will decorate the future building of the Museum. To do this, all guests are encouraged to bring to the Park reserves pebbles, shells and pieces of pottery.
