The assumption Cathedral of the Moscow Kremlin will be completely renovated, work will last about five years

Moscow. May 17. INTERFAX – Full-scale restoration of the assumption Cathedral will take about five years, said Director of Moscow Kremlin Museums Elena Gagarina.

“We will now begin the restoration, which will last for five years at least. We will restore the Cathedral in its entirety,” Yelena Gagarina said at a press conference on Wednesday.

She told me that she will be restored engineering component of the Cathedral, roofs, floors, walls.

Yelena Gagarina said that the last major restoration of the assumption Cathedral was held in 1970-ies.

“Upon completion we will be able not only to present the Cathedral in a restored form, but also to make certain scientific discoveries,” she said.
