Media: Spain joined the integration unit of NATO in Latvia

RIGA, may 16 – RIA Novosti. Spain became the 12 country to officially confirm its participation in stationed in Latvia integration division of NATO forces, said on Monday the Internet-portal Delfi with reference to the Advisor to the unit commander on public relations Anda Bergmane.

“Joining the unit will allow to improve the cooperation between Spain and Latvia as the host country and promote the integration of Spanish troops, headed by Canada’s battle group and the brigade of the land forces,” — said Bergamine.

As soobshaet Delfi, the integration unit of NATO forces in Latvia was established on September 1, 2015, and its main task is to coordinate the rapid deployment of NATO forces high readiness, including promoting the deployment of allied forces in Latvia. The unit are 12 participating countries: Latvia (as the host country provides about 50% of the personnel division), Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Germany, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Turkey, UK, USA and Spain.
