“I personally put the question of renewal from 6 to 12 months,” Poroshenko decided to hold talks with the EU on sanctions against Russia

The President has stated that he personally initiated the negotiations with the European Union to extend economic sanctions against Russia for another six months.

This was announced on his Twitter page, the press Secretary of the head
of state Svyatoslav Tsegolko, reports “RBC-Ukraine”.

“The President has initiated negotiations with
EU to extend sanctions against Russia from 6 to 12 months,” he writes,
noting that the official Kiev will do everything to Moscow began to abide by the Minsk agreement.

Earlier, Poroshenko said that
the main goal of Ukraine – membership in the European Union, and Russia can’t do anything with it
