The inhabitant of Tula sentenced to almost two years for stealing from Church

Tula. May 11. INTERFAX – the Court in Tula has sentenced a local resident accused of stealing Church vessels from the temple, told “Interfax” on Thursday, senior assistant regional Prosecutor Lyubov Kuznetsova.

According to her, the defendant was sentenced to 1 year and 9 months of imprisonment with punishment serving in a colony of strict regime.

According to the court, 29 January the convict entered the room of the Kazan temple in Tula and stole the crosses depicting the crucifixion of Jesus Christ, icons, rings, chains.

A criminal case was opened under paragraph “b” of part 2 of article 158 of the criminal code (theft of another’s property with illegal penetration into the room).

Previously convicted was already brought to criminal responsibility.
