The service was led by Bishop of Canberra George (Russian Orthodox Church abroad). At the dedication of a few dozen believers, the press service of the Australian diocese of ROCOR.

Russian Orthodox community in New Zealand began to take shape half a century ago and today has five parishes.

Meanwhile, in Sydney, Australia Orthodox believers are going to achieve structures at the local cemetery Rookwood memorial “St. George” in honor of the Russian soldiers (participants of the great war in 1914, the Civil war of 1918-1922 and the great Patriotic war), buried in this and other Australian cemeteries, the report said.

Now in the cemetery Rookwood operates the Russian chapel. It is the country’s largest cemetery, numbering about a million graves, including more than 20 thousand graves where lie the Russian people.
