In St. Petersburg in 2016 disintegrated more than half of married marriages

Moscow. May 2. INTERFAX – the St. Petersburg diocese expressed concern about the situation of divorce among the Orthodox.

As reported at the interregional conference on the Church’s social Ministry in St. Petersburg, Chairman of the diocesan Commission on family matters, protection of motherhood and childhood Archpriest Alexander Dyagilev, the “Northern capital” in 2016, was terminated 54% married marriages, the press service of the Synodal Department for social service.

In total in Russia, according to the priest, last year the number of divorces has reached 62%.

The priest heads the charity Fund of support of families “Good home”, which among other things implements the program “Family dialogue”. He said that of the 390 couples who participated in this program, 46 were in deep crisis or on the verge of divorce, but after its passage 39 pairs were able to save the marriage.
