“No lifting of sanctions as long as the Minsk agreements will be fulfilled!” Is Merkel going to Russia for the hard talk with Putin

Vice-President of the European Parliament Graf Lambsdorff said that Chancellor Angela Merkel should take a tough stance during talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin on the conflict in Ukraine.

Lambsdorff believes that Moscow must
to speak only from a position of strength. However, we should not forget about a certain
partnership.

He also added that the European
community serves single echelon regarding the preservation of economic
sanctions against the Russian Federation. As long as the Minsk agreement
are not met in full, about any lifting of economic restrictions
and speech can not be.

The politician stressed that the EU is ready to
skillful negotiations with the Kremlin, however, Russia must respect international
law and the world order.

We will remind, on may 2, German Chancellor Angela
Merkel will arrive in Sochi for talks with Russian President Vladimir
Putin.
