Simferopol. April 17. INTERFAX – the ceremony of the pouring of the Foundation of the Cathedral mosque of Crimea will be held on April 21.
The decision was taken after visiting the site of the future mosque in Simferopol, the mufti of Crimea Emirali Ablaev and state Duma Deputy Ruslan Balbec, the press service of the local mufti.
The ceremony will coincide with the third anniversary of the signing of the Russian President’s decree on rehabilitation of Crimean Tatar and other peoples of the Peninsula, victims of repression.
As reported, the open mosque is planned on the same day, April 21, 2019.
The main mosque of Crimea began to build on Yalta street of Simferopol in September 2015. It was originally planned that the construction will cost about 2 billion rubles. Now the construction of the facility is estimated at 3.5 billion.
The complex is in the style of Ottoman architecture with the Crimean Tatar ethnic motifs will include a main building with a dome height of 28 m, and four minarets with a height of 50 m, an internal courtyard and administrative building. The mosque can simultaneously accommodate 4-5 thousand people.
In the Crimea, with a population of 1.9 million people, there are about 300 thousand Muslims.
