Off the hook energy of Moscow. Going to Ukraine coal from South Africa

Holding DTEK Rinat Akhmetov bought 600 thousand tons of coal in Africa, and in June the first vessel with 75 thousand tons of anthracite coal will arrive to Ukraine.

600 thousand tons of anthracite to South Africa, reports “Dialog UA”.

“DTEK
confirms the purchase of 600 thousand tons of coal from South Africa with the option to increase to 1 million
tons. The arrival of the first ship to Ukraine with 75 thousand tons of anthracite is expected in
June,” according to the press service of the company.

Fuel
will be shipped in anthracite TPP of DTEK, which will be included in the work for
maintain the stability of the power system of Ukraine. This is the first in the history of Ukraine
the precedent for the purchase of such volumes of anthracite on the distant markets in such a short
time.

“So
by the way, DTEK begins to form stocks of anthracite at its thermal power plants to prepare
for the autumn-winter period 2017-2018,” – said in DTEK.

Is
note that April 12 was extended for another month emergency measures in the energy sector
Ukraine.

As previously
it was reported that in late March, DTEK
urged not to buy coal produced in the occupied areas of Donbass “under
the patronage of” Pro-Russian militants.
