The Lamborghini Huracan Spyder Performante, has been spotted testing in Germany, all but confirming the car which is expected to launch within the year.
Visually, apart from the obvious – the Spyder retains the coupe’s extreme styling, large wing aerodynamics and updates, and should also maintain its 631bhp power figure.
It is likely that the car will maintain the coupe 202mph top speed and a 2.9 sec 0-62mph time as the standard Huracán models, but a spokesman for the Lamborghini has been able to confirm the details on the car. Extra weight and strength can mean a slight decrease in performance.
This is the first time, hardcore, soft-top has been spotted in testing, suggesting a launch time of this year. World premiere at the LA motor show this year, it is likely that, given the traditionally more convertible full exhibitor list.
The Huracán high-Performance version of the coupé module costs £213,000; the regular Spyder carries a £18,000 prize compared to the coupe, then, a price for the Huracán Spyder Performante over £230,000 is likely.
Lamborghini recently snatched the lap record at the Nürburgring, the Porsche 918 Spyder, getting a time of 6:52; 5 sec faster than the Porsche records that you set in the month of September 2013. Even if the vehicle speed has been reached 14mph slower than a similar attempt in the Aventador SV, the Huracán Performance beat his stablemate by 7sec.
