Well-known Russian figures will bake matzah in Moscow for the Jewish Passover

Moscow. April 3. INTERFAX – the ceremony of baking matzah with the participation of well-known personalities will be held April 5 in the center of Moscow on the eve of the Jewish Passover.

In the event, which will take place at the yeshiva (Jewish school) in the Pokrovka will be attended by the Director Pavel Lungin, the politician Lyudmila Narusova, a political scientist Igor Bunin, the economist Yevgeny Gontmakher, the singer Masha Katz and others, reported “Interfax-Religion” on Monday, the press service of the Russian Jewish Congress, which organizes the event.

So matzah is the main attribute of the holiday – it is kosher, when it is baking, guests will have to fulfill some important terms: take the flour, grown in the Holy Land is under special control of the rabbis, to use spring water typed before dawn when it is most cold and time to bake the matzah for no more than 18 minutes after the mixing of flour with water (the number 18 in Judaism symbolizes life).
