About 2 thousand people came to graduading rally in St. Petersburg – Smolny

Saint-Petersburg. March 18. INTERFAX – a rally against the St. Isaac’s Cathedral Church, in defense of the national library of Russia, and Pulkovo Observatory gathered at Mars field in St. Petersburg, about two thousand participants, have informed “Interfax” in the government of the city on Saturday.

From the stage, the audience asked the members of the legislative Assembly of St. Petersburg Maxim Reznik, Oksana Dmitrieva (“Party of growth”) and Boris Vishnevsky (Yabloko).

“This issue (St. Isaac’s Cathedral – Interfax) should not be Smolny together with the ROC, not the officials and we, the citizens of St. Petersburg, because this is our city,” said Boris Vishnevsky.

The organizers of the rally spoke against the St. Isaac’s Cathedral Church, and also expressed concern about the situation with the construction of the Pulkovo heights a possible unification of the Russian state and Russian national libraries and demanded to preserve the European University.

Previously, the government of St. Petersburg agreed on graduading rally on the Champ de Mars number of 200 people.
