The U.S. government has approved the allocation of $ 54 million for carrying out reforms in Ukraine in the energy sector, in compliance with the rule of law and government accountability to citizens.
Mission Director U.S. Agency for international development Susan Fritz Pervy Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine Stepan has Cubistically intergovernmental agreement for obtaining a new tranche from Washington.
“According to these agreements, Ukraine will allocate an additional $54 million to support critical reforms,” said U.S. Ambassador to Ukraine, Marie Yovanovitch.
According to her, the money will be spent on the fight against corruption, economic transformation and the development of democracy.
“I am convinced that this extra help is one step to bring the Ukrainian people to the well-being of democracy to which it aspires and which it deserves”, – said Jovanovic.
Principal areas of financing are: energy sector, compliance with the rule of law and accountability of the government of Ukraine to citizens of Ukraine.
