Released from captivity in Nigeria seafarers in touch with his family in Sebastopol

SEVASTOPOL, 5 Mar RIA Novosti, Maxim Beautiful! Freed from the captivity of pirates in Nigeria, the Russian sailors got in touch with the family, and the next day fly back home, told RIA Novosti the Commissioner for human rights of the city of Sevastopol Pavel Buzy.

According to him, seven Russian citizens and one citizen of Ukraine released from Nigerian captivity and are currently at Frankfurt airport.

“They are in Frankfurt, three of them Sevastopol already contacted relatives, well-being of all sailors,” said Bucy.

The Commissioner for human rights in Sevastopol did not specify the details of the operation to free the Russian and Ukrainian sailors, saying only that “all went well and efficiently.”

“All the sailors happy. They fought the joint efforts of the Ministry of foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation and the companies that hired them. The sailors are happy that they waited and they worried. Today or tomorrow they will arrive in the Crimea”, said the activist.

In February 2017 civilian ship, which was including the Russian sailors, was seized by Nigerian pirates. Of sailors landed from the ship and taken to the pirate camp on the beach. The owner of the vessel “BBC Caribbean” conducted difficult negotiations with the pirates and agreed to the release of the crew.
